An early morning stroll through the village will help you work up an appetite for our wonderful Bassets breakfast. Our generous menu offers a variety of home cooked dishes for you to enjoy, whether a hearty Bassets full English breakfast or one of our lighter options, to set you up for the day ahead. We source our products locally, whenever possible, including Tickle Tum pork, newly laid eggs (from our own hens, which are free to roam in the garden), our own homemade jams and marmalades and finally our own grown fruit & veg, when in season. We love our breakfasts!
Our bedrooms, located on the first floor, are spacious, light and airy and are fully equipped. Blankets or hypoallergenic pillows & duvets, iron and ironing board and Wi-Fi access is available by arrangement. At Bassets we hope you will enjoy our warm welcome, whether you are travelling for business, taking a relaxing weekend break or enjoying a longer stay with time to explore the treasures and delights of Dorset. Bassets is a no smoking and pet free home (apart from our lovely chickens!).
With Winterborne Zelston as your base, we can help you plan your day to make the most of your time in Dorset. Whether you’re here to explore the great outdoors – walking, cycling or admiring the outstanding beauty and dramatic coastline of the Jurassic Coast, maybe visiting one of Bournemouth’s sunny beaches, taking in the fresh air, fantastic views and breath-taking scenery from the top of the Purbeck Hills, or exploring the history of the area through a visit to one of the many iconic market towns Dorset has to offer. Dorset is also host to some fantastic National Trust properties such as Corfe Castle, Kingston Lacey, or Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.
There are many local attractions and events to enjoy, such as: Swanage Railway, Jazz Festival, Poole Quay bike nights, Great Dorset Steam Fair, Larmer Tree, Wimborne Folk, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Wareham Rex cinema, Arne RSPB nature reserve.
