Description

Cherryhill Lodge is a comfortable family run B&B and Self Catering Studio located in Newcastle, County Down. For any golfing fan, Cherryhill could not be better situated. Only a two minute drive from the first tee of one of the most prestigious golf courses in the world, Royal County Down. Cherryhill is right on 2 great walking trails - The Mourne Way and The Newcastle Way. Step out your front door and you get straight on to either of these fantastic walks in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Murlough Nature Reserve is a five minute drive from Cherryhill Lodge, Murlough National Nature Reserve is a fragile 6000 year old sand dune system owned by the National Trust and managed as Ireland’s first Nature Reserve since 1967. It is an excellent area for walking and bird watching due to its spectacular location at the edge of Dundrum Bay and the Mourne Mountains. Only a 20 minute drive from Cherryhill Lodge is the award winning Tyrella beach and dune conservation area. This is a small, enclosed complex within Dundrum Bay, Downpatrick, County Down. It is a wide, flat, sandy beach two kilometres long and backed by 25 hectares of mature dunes in a conservation area offering scenic walks and an insight into the habitat of local flora and fauna.

Directions

  • Road from Newcastle, County Down (1.5 miles)
    Cherryhill Lodge is only 1.5 miles from the main street in Newcastle. Follow the main street until you reach the traffic lights at the bottom. Take the right lane. Continue for 0.2 miles and take the left on to Tullybrannigan Road. On this road take the second left and follow this road, up the hill and round the corner. From here, follow the road straight for 0.6 miles and throught a small roundabout. After passing the roundabout, Cherryhill Lodge is up the hill, second on the left.
