The Soldier Dick Information

Description

The Soldier Dick is a charming, quintessential 18th century coaching inn located within the glorious Peak District National Park. It's positioning on the main A6 Buxton to Stockport route affords fantastic transportation links to nearby towns of Buxton and Stockport along with the smaller villages of Whaley Bridge, New Mills, Disley and Chapel En Le Frith or for a scenic trip over the hill tops to Sheffield or Leeds. There is also a direct train service running from Buxton to Manchester Piccadilly, Furness Vale train station is located a stones throw away from our front door. Not to mention there is the fantastic bus service which conveniently stops directly outside our front door and spans services from Buxton to Manchester Airport or Manchester City Centre. Once you've got here, you will be greeted with all of the Peak Districts splendour and glory. The stunning scenery is everywhere around and we are only a short distance away from the likes of Blue John Cavern, Lyme Park and the idyllic villages of Castleton, Edale and beyond. The area offers fantastic scenic walks and wildlife. The pub is positioned only a stones throw from the peak forest canal and affords a perfect base for those wishing to partake in outdoor pursuits or cycling. The Soldier Dick prides itself as being a place to rest tired feet in front of the open fire after a long days walk in the winter months or you can soak up the sun on our fantastic south facing beer garden, enjoy an ice cold pint of your favourite drop. Please note that we do not serve food within our premises however, there are a large number of excellent eating establishments within a short drive. Our accommodation does however have a shared kitchenette/dining facility which is ideal for making light breakfasts, packed lunches and simple evening meals. The kitchenette is well equipped.

Accessibility

Flat level access is available to the ground floor via the car park to the rear of the property. Disabled toilet facilities are available to the ground floor within the bar area. Due to the age and construction of the property, it is not possible for any access to the 2nd floor bedrooms other than via a stairwell to the rear entrance of the building.
