Hill Farm Information

Description

Our bed and breakfast offers complete privacy and seclusion just 2.5 miles outside Oxford City Centre. We have 5 guest bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms: There are two guest bedrooms in the main house - Magnolia is our largest room with its 17th century four poster bed and dual aspect windows overlooking the traditional stable yard the garden by the magnolia trees. Chestnut offers a 6' king size or twin bed configuration. The cottage part of the property offers three double rooms. Birch is on the ground floor with french windows onto a small garden area and offers 6' king size or twin bed configuration. Breakfast is served in our Clubhouse which is a short stroll across the garden. We offer a choice of cooked breakfast or continental including warm pastries, croissants, cheeses, ham, toast, preserves, yoghurt, cereals and fruit. Surrounded by open countryside and yet approximately 2.5 miles from Oxford City Centre. We are also close to the John Radcliffe Hospital 1.8 miles. It is recommended that guests have a car although it is possible to walk to public transport or Old Marston Village in approximately 10 minutes (please note this necessitates crossing the ring road at a designated crossing). You can also walk along the river into central oxford which is a pleasant walk of around 45 minutes. Cyclists can use the adjacent cycle track. There is a pretty walk to the rear of the property over open farmland adjoining the Oxfordshire Way. Bicester Village which is a twenty minute drive by car is a must for shopping enthusiasts!

Accessibility

Unfortunately as we are an old farmhouse and the rooms are upstairs, none of the rooms are suitable for disabled guests unable to climb fairly steep stairs. Our standard rooms Cherry and Willow are reached via a spiral staircase in a separate building to the main house across the stable yard.

  • Road from Oxford City Centre (2.5 miles)

From Oxford City centre proceed along the Banbury Road towards Summertown and continue on this road, through Summertown to Cutteslowe Roundabout. Turn right to Headington and Marston on the Northern by-pass. Continue on this road past Cutteslowe park and look out for two triangular warning signs with tractors "Farm Traffic 350 yards" Shortly after this there is a horse and rider sign and Mill Lane is a direct turning off the bypass approximately 50 yards after this sign. We are situated approximately 400 meters on the left hand side (first gateway after Cherwell Competition Centre) OX3 0QF - There is an intercom to ring on arrival.

Mill Lane must be accessed from the Eastbound carriageway of the A40 heading towards London.  You cannot gain access to us via Mill Lane in Marston village.
