Descripció

Ellen House Bed and Breakfast is located on the outskirts of Matlock, Derbyshire. This Edwardian house provides individually furnished rooms, each with its own character, some decorated with hand crafted furniture an, original art and interesting items. Our rooms are modern with many contemporary touches, but cosy and comfortable. All rooms have central heating, individually controlled heating, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The en-suite shower rooms also come with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Each room features a tray filled will our homemade treats. Ellen House boasts an attractive terraced garden with views of the town and countryside. We are well known for our extensive menu featuring dishes such as Eggs Benedict, omelettes with various fillings, a South African breakfast and of course our classic full English. We use locally sourced ingredients- our sausages and bacon come from a local award winning butcher. We also specialise in vegetarian and vegan dishes as we believe in substituting the usual vegetarian sausage with a dish specially made for our vegetarian and vegan guests. We offer dishes such as a potato frittata, a lentil pot and herby mushrooms. There is free parking and free Wi-Fi access in all areas. Matlock is an attractive market town with many amenities as well as quaint locally owned shops, tearooms, restaurants and an award winning park. The property is a 1-minute stroll from Matlock Railway Station and less than a 10-minute walk from Matlock town centre. Matlock is situated just outside the Peak National Park with many tourists attractions nearby. You are only 20-30 minutes away from historic sites such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Venture further afield and you will find the Tramway Museum, Castleton, cycling routes at Monsal Head and too many walks to mention with the Limestone Way going past the back of the house. Derby is 18 miles away and Manchester Airport is 40 miles away.

    From Derby and the South Take the A6 towards Matlock. Travel through Cromford and Matlock Bath. On entering Matlock, pass the Boathouse Inn on the left and continue under the railway bridge. Continue through the traffic lights until the road bends to the right. Keep left at the bend. You will pass the Royal bank of Scotland on your right. Ellen House is situated about 200 yards up the road on your left. It is almost on the top of the hill and the the only house with a garage.
