Description

Southfields is a stylish, contemporary Bed and Breakfast with stunning, panoramic views over open countryside to the distant coast, yet only 10 minutes drive from the Isle of Man’s capital, Douglas. Whether you are coming to the island for a business trip or a relaxing break, Southfields' central location makes it an ideal base for both work and pleasure. Situated at the end of a country lane and set in almost three acres, this impressive glass-fronted property is a haven of peace and tranquility. Surrounded by farmland, with horses, sheep and cows grazing in the fields, it feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the city. The light and spacious interior purveys an atmosphere of relaxation and calm, with the panoramic sweep affording views of the rolling countryside from every room. Each stylish guest room offers bright, spacious accommodation with countryside views, built-in wardrobes, en-suite bathroom, walk-in shower (two rooms have separate baths), free wi-fi, flat screen TV and Tassimo drinks machine providing high quality Twinings tea and Kenco filter coffee. Cooked breakfast includes high quality sausages, bacon and eggs, and is served in a bright, attractive dining room which benefits from the morning sun and overlooks a decked patio. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, Manx kippers or vegetarian options including grilled halloumi are also on offer. Breakfast is served from 7.15am to 9am and we're happy to do an earlier breakfast if you need to check out early to catch a ferry or flight. Alternatively we can leave a pre-packed breakfast in the fridge for you to take with you. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome at Southfields and we aim to make your stay with us peaceful and relaxing. Ample off road parking is also available and there is a large secure garage for bikes and motor bikes if required.

Accessibilité

Southfields is situated at the end of a country lane and access to the front of the property is via seven concrete steps with a hand rail on each side. There is also a side entrance accessed via two concrete steps. All guest bedrooms are located on the first floor accessed via the tiled hallway leading to a carpeted staircase with 16 steps and a hand rail on the left hand side. We do not have a lift. All guest bedrooms have en suite facilities with walk in showers (there is a small step into each of the shower cubicles). Two en suites also have a separate bath. Public areas are well lit using a combination of ceiling lights and table lamps. The house is double glazed and fully centrally heated throughout and the temperature can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements. The bright breakfast room is situated off the hallway on the ground floor and is step free. There is ample, private off road parking. ?

  • Route à partir de Ronaldsway Airport (11,0 miles)
    Follow the signs for the A5 Douglas. After appx 7 miles, continue straight across a first roundabout. At the next roundabout (Quarterbridge), turn left (signposted A1 Peel). At the next roundabout, take second exit onto A23 Braddan Road. At next roundabout take first exit. At next roundabout take third exit (Ballaoates Road). Follow this road until reaching a rural crossroads and turn left (signposted Abbeylands). Southfields will be found after 1.1 miles on the right
  • Route à partir de Douglas Ferry Terminal (4,0 miles)
    Follow the Promenade road along the seafront for appx half a mile, passing Gaiety Theatre. Turn left at traffic lights into Broadway. Continue driving straight for appx 2.5 miles, over a major crossroads and a mini roundabout until reaching a rural crossroads. Continue driving straight over this crossroads into Abbeylands. Southfields will be found after 1.1 miles on the right hand side of the lane.
