The Cavendish Information

Description

The Cavendish Guest House - a beautiful Victorian building, is situated just of the Esplanade on the south side of Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort, we are very close to where the original Spa waters were first discovered, which started the resorts popularity with the Victorians. We are a small, well-established family-run guest house offering bed, and breakfast with all the modern creature comforts that you would expect from a forward thinking establishment. A warm & friendly welcome is given to all guests and every effort is made to ensure your stay as enjoyable. Why not come and sample some Yorkshire hospitality? This non-smoking hotel is open all year, including Christmas and New Year. Olivers Mount, which is the countries only surviving road race circuit, has around 6 motorcycling race events each year, it's about 10 minutes from the hotel. Scarborough has a wealth of history to explore & discover, a natural history museum includes Roman, Viking, Medieval,1st & 2nd world war memorabilia and of course the South & North Bays are dominated by the Castle. The cricket ground is used by Yorkshire and various touring international & county teams. Alan Ayckbourn the world famous play writer lives in Scarborough, all of his plays are shown first in the equally famous "Stephen Joseph Theatre" which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, quite often these plays will then move on to Broadway. Robert & Joanna have been at The Cavendish for 6 years after moving from Cambridge where they lived for the t 20 years. Robert is a qualified chef and has also managed the catering for a variety of establishments as well as two of the Cambridge University Colleges, he is returning to his roots as he was brought up in Scarborough, Joanna has worked in customer services and recently qualified as an accountant, she originally comes from Huddersfield.
