Gallen-Treath Guest House Information

Spectacular coastal views and a warm and friendly welcome awaits at Gallen-Treath Guest House. We are situated in a peaceful, small village on the northeast part of the Lizard peninsula. Most of our bedrooms are en-suite and all are individually decorated, comfortable and clean with beverage facilities and TV. A guest lounge, with balcony, and patio/garden area are available throughout the day for complete relaxation. We cater for all diets using mainly local ingredients - please let us know if you have any special requirements - and we offer a varied breakfast menu with flexible dining times for those who require an early start. Clive has been developing his culinary skills and is now able to offer VEGAN choices on the menu and we have an AA Best Breakfast Award. We are close to the coastpath, diving, sailing and fishing facilities, gardens and more. The shingle beach in the village is dog friendly all year round and there are plenty of country walks for exploring with or without a pet. This is an ideal area for bird, basking shark and wildlife watching and an interesting area for geologists too. Arrival time - Please let us know your approximate arrival time on booking. There are only two of us and we do sometimes need to go out - shopping, helping at village events and, most importantly, accompanying JD on his walks!

  • Road from Helston (12.0 miles)

Take the A3083 (Lizard road) from Helston. Turn left at the RNAS Culdrose roundabout and follow St Keverne signs through Garras and Goonhilly. Turn left in St Keverne square by the pub. Proceed for c. 1.5 miles along a winding country lane to Porthallow. Once there follow the road round to the left across the junction (do not turn right up the steep hill as this will lead you out of the village) veering left over a small bridge and then for a short distance up an incline to Gallen-Treath. Sat nav (shortest distant route) may direct you down all of Pengarrock Hill to us. However the "main" road from St Keverne into Porthallow is the better option as it is slightly wider and has more passing places. Please note that the very nature of living on a peninsula means that very few of our roads are large!
