Humphries Cross Apartments Information

Description

Humphries Cross is a large Edwardian country house in an idyllic location, set in 15 acres of gardens and grounds surrounded by farmland in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Victorian portion of the house, which was the original farmhouse, dates back to the early 1800's. This has now been separated from the main house and recently refurbished into three stylish and tranquil self catering apartments. We offer guests a quiet and secluded setting in the Domesday village of Iden, with its dog friendly pub, shop, post office and church and only 2 miles from the centre of the historic Cinque Port Town of Rye with its cobbled streets, antique shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, Harbour and Nature Reserve. Popular Festivals include Rye Bay Scallop festival, Medieval Siege of Rye and the Bonfire Parade with flaming torches and fire works. Just 5 miles away we have the pretty Ancient Town of Winchelsea and its large shingle beach, Camber Sands with its vast expanse of sandy beach and dunes and a little further RSPB Dungeness. Within 10 miles of the property you can visit the Award winning Chapel Down Winery, shop in the beautiful, ancient Town of Tenterden or take a leisurely cruise or kayak down the River Rother from Bodiam Boating Station. We are also a short drive away from various National Trust Properties including Lamb House, Smallhythe Place and Bodiam Castle. The traditional seaside Town of Hastings, Ashford Train Station, with its direct access to London and the Designer Outlet Centre are all only a 35 minute drive away. For those wanting a day trip to France, the ferry port of Dover is only a hours drive.
