Watson Lodge Guest House Information

Description

WATSON LODGE is a Georgian town-house built in 1827. We are a mix of old and modern with many period features still intact throughout the building. We offer several room types - twin, triple, family, double - and all our double rooms have super-king size beds. All rooms have FREE WiFi and a 32" flat screen television with FREEVIEW. Our ground floor room is suitable for guests with restricted mobility and we can arrange hire of a mobility scooter. Guests are welcome to enjoy the paved garden area to the rear of the property which is stocked with unusual plants and flowers and is a real sun-trap during the summer. We are located in a quiet street in the town centre close to shops, restaurants and pubs. Edinburgh is only 40 minutes by car and trains and buses run every half hour. The scenery here is world renowned and perfect for weddings, family gatherings, photography or just walking. There are also many historical sites to explore and the area also offers golf, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, swimming, gym, fitness classes, horse riding and even zorba football. For the less energetic there are shops, beauty treatment salons, 4 screen cinema, bingo hall, theatre, concerts and an excellent choice of restaurants and pubs offering live music and entertainment. Children are also well catered for with indoor soft play areas and a deer farm and donkey sanctuary nearby. Details of all events are available in reception and all our staff are knowledgable about the local area and happy to help. Yearly events include the Borders towns' Gala Days and Equestrian Common Ridings. The Melrose 7s Rugby Tournament is held in April with top class teams competing from around the world. The Borders Book Festival in June attracts famous faces from the world of books, comedy, news and television. And we are only a train or bus ride away from the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe which runs throughout August! We look forward to welcoming you to WATSON LODGE soon.
